Our Split Hickory Farm
Crafting farm-fresh eggs and artisanal goat milk soaps with care in South Central Alabama.
Nestled in South Central Alabama, Split Hickory Farm is a family-run homestead dedicated to sustainable,
high-quality products. Our free-range chickens and cherished Nigerian Dwarf goats produce vibrant eggs
and rich milk, transformed into handcrafted Oatmeal Lavender, Lemon Poppyseed, and exclusive limited-run
goat milk soaps.
Our mixed-breed chickens roam freely, foraging for bugs and seeds with access to premium feed and fresh
water. Their natural lifestyle yields flavorful eggs, collected daily.
Our Nigerian Dwarf goats, beloved farm family members, thrive in spacious pens. Nannies are hand-milked
twice daily, and their kids are lovingly raised by their mothers until weaned. The milk becomes
luxurious, skin-nourishing soaps, crafted with time-honored techniques.
Our bucks and wethers graze separately, rotating through pastures and woodlands to naturally enrich the
land. This sustainable practice ensures a thriving ecosystem. Discover our eggs and soaps at
S&J Feed and Seed west of Highland Home or at select local farmers' markets.
Our Products
Handcrafted and sustainably sourced, Split Hickory Farm’s offerings bring South Central Alabama’s finest
eggs, goat milk, and soaps to your home.
Farm-Fresh Eggs
Our mixed-breed chickens wander freely across Split Hickory’s pastures, scratching for bugs and seeds
while supplemented with high-quality feed. This small flock produces eggs in a spectrum of colors and
sizes, each one hand-collected daily for freshness. The result is a product that embodies the care and
freedom of our sustainable approach.
Artisanal Goat Milk Soaps
Crafted in small batches, our goat milk soaps blend the rich milk of our goats with all-natural
ingredients. Oatmeal Lavender soothes with its calming scent and gentle exfoliation, while Lemon
Poppyseed invigorates with a bright, cleansing finish. Our limited-run recipes offer unique seasonal
blends, each bar handcrafted to hydrate and nourish skin with time-tested methods.
Raw Goat Milk
Hand-milked twice daily from our Nigerian Dwarf goats, our raw goat milk is a versatile resource for
agricultural purposes. Whether used to supplement pet or livestock diets or as a raw ingredient in
non-food products like soaps, its quality reflects the health of our goats, who graze in open pens and
raise their kids naturally until weaned.
Purchase our eggs, raw goat milk, and soaps at S&J Feed and Seed, 174 Thompson Rd, Lapine, AL 36046, or

About Us
Split Hickory Farm began as a family dream born from distance. As siblings spread across the country, we
yearned to reunite and live self-sufficiently. In 2020, we started searching for a place to root
ourselves, and by 2022, we found our home in South Central Alabama. Here, on what was once timber land,
we’ve built a family-run operation where every egg cracked and every bar of soap shaped carries the mark
of our hands.
Life at Split Hickory moves to the rhythm of self-reliance. We raise chickens for eggs and goats for
milk, crafting soap from the surplus—available at our online store or right here locally. Everything we
produce, we use ourselves, from the breakfast table to the washstand. It’s a way of living that respects
the land, the animals, and the ecosystem we’re part of. When we arrived, vines were choking the forests,
tearing at the trees. We rolled up our sleeves, cutting and pulling by hand, restoring health to the
woods one hard-earned hour at a time.
We’re a family as varied as the tasks we tackle. Raised in southern Montana, we scattered across the
states, each picking up different perspectives and skills—planning, gardening, animal care, building.
Yet here, we’re one crew, working side by side. “We believe in treating our neighbors, our animals, and
our land with respect,” as one of us put it, and that guides every choice. The local community,
tight-knit and long-standing, is one we’re excited to call home. We’re gearing up to join in at the
local farmers’ markets and other events.
Looking ahead, Split Hickory Farm is ready to grow. Plans are in place for raw goat milk, rabbit meat,
and fresh produce as our gardens take shape. As the timber matures, we’ll offer wood products too. It’s
a slow build, rooted in the belief that what we make should sustain us—and maybe our neighbors too. From
our mom to our kids, everyone pitches in, turning this patch of Alabama into a legacy we can stand by.
